You might have heard of the 21-day rule. The basic premise is that it takes 21 days to form a habit and 21 days to erase a habitâand as weâve seen, our stigmas often lead to habits. However, this is not universally true with every single habit and every single person, so donât give yourself a strict time limit.
Some stigmas are harder to erase than others. Each individual is different, their brains work differently, and it may take them different amounts of time to adjust. Therefore, if you still find yourself participating in the same stigmas after 21 days, thatâs okayâjust continue to work on erasing them. Sometimes it can take months.
